Lake District Walks	The English Lake District is the most beautiful natural terrain I know. In 1990 I was fortunate enough to be able to come to live here permanently and walk the Lakeland fells to my heart's content. This site is dedicated to all those who explore the area on foot.

Ospray Watch	Welcome to the Lake District Osprey Project and the end of an exciting 4th year watching the Bassenthwaite Ospreys.During 2004 the Ospreys on Bassenthwaite Lake laid 3 eggs but only managed to hatch and raise one female chick.
Friends of The Lake District	Formed in 1934 the Friends of the Lake District works to protect and enhance the special qualities of the distinctive and inspirational landscapes of the Lake District and Cumbria.
Mountain Rescue	The Lake District Search and Mountain Rescue Association is the umbrella body for the 13 mountain rescue teams in Cumbria (UK). Teams are largely autonomous, but LDSAMRA coordinates the development of operational matters such as radio communications and insurance, as well as the day to day running of an efficient, voluntary rescue service. It also distributes to the teams any donations or legacies received and makes special allowances for major projects such as building extensions.
